We're looking for people to join a COVID-19 Patient and Public Panel
24 Jun 2020
We’re a key part of the UK’s research effort to combat COVID-19. We are currently supporting six COVID-19 studies, with applications for other studies in the pipeline. Most of these studies are clinical trials. One is an observational study. Our COVID-19 research covers treatment and prevention, including vaccine trials.
We’re setting up a panel of patients, carers and members of the public to advise us on our COVID-19 research. The Panel will meet virtually.
We’re looking for people who have some experience of being involved in health research to join this Panel. We’re especially interested to receive applications from people who:
- Have had COVID-19, have a family member or are a carer of someone who has had COVID-19
- Are at particular risk from COVID-19 – because of age, ethnicity, an existing health condition or occupation
- Have prior experience of involvement or participation in health research
We want the Panel to fully reflect the diversity of people who are most at risk of COVID-19.
We will pay Panel members £20 per hour for their time.
For a role description and information about how to apply, please contact Kate Sturgeon, PPI Coordinator for the MRC CTU at UCL, email k.sturgeon@ucl.ac.uk.
The closing date for applications is 10th July.
Interviews will take place on 20th July and an induction session for successful applicants will take place on 28th July. Please let us know if you have any specific requirements.
