Over 1000 patients recruited in EURAMOS-1

In May 2008, the 1000th patient joined the EURAMOS-1 trial. This was a huge milestone in a study of a rare disease and EURAMOS-1 is now the largest Osteosarcoma trial. Recruitment to the trial continues.

EURAMOS-1 is a collaboration of the European and American Osteosarcoma Study Group, involving the North American Children’s Oncology Group (COG), the German-Austrian-Swiss Cooperative Osteosarcoma Group (COSS), the European Osteosarcoma Intergroup (EOI) and the Scandinavian Sarcoma Group (SSG). The trial team appreciates the efforts of the large number of centres involved worldwide.

In Europe the trial is supported by the European Science Foundation (ESF) under the EUROCORES Programme European Clinical Trials (ECT), through contract No. ERAS-CT-2003-980409 of the European Commission, DG Research, FP6.
